Why is Western Media unkind to India?

Why is Western Media unkind to India?

The images of funeral pyres of Covid deaths in India and death tolls were so hyped in Western Media but the mass graves in US disappeared in small news articles. Doubts were expressed in long articles regarding India’s vaccination but western vaccines which had lesser efficacy were glorified. Farmers Protests in India was portrayed as a serious violation of human rights in all liberal newspapers. Shaheenbaugh’s protesting women made it to the cover page of a famous international magazine depicting how brave this women were to fight the fascist Indian government. But news about Canada brutally dealing with its protestors conveniently disappeared. An Indian missile misfire due to technical failure into Pakistan without any damage to any life or property invited articles everywhere. Ukraine Indian Student evacuation problems were printed everywhere. The monk CM from a state in India was portrayed as a “militant monk” and a “saffron terror”. The list is endless.

Does Western media have something against India? Yes, it has. And that is India’s strong government. The government no more bows down to their whims and fancies. That is not tolerable to self-proclaimed God-ordained supremacists of the world.  They are used to dictating all countries which they have labeled as “developing” countries or “third world” countries.

Do you remember a developed European country’s premier’s remarks during the Covid times “We allowed India to become the pharmacy of the world”? Does this statement not clearly imply where this “allow” comes from? It comes from the fact that they believe that these handful supremacists rule the world and they have the right to decide how and what happens even when the colonial era is over.

In the name of welfare grants and loans, they buy the ability to dictate. For buying that ability, they need the co-operation of the government of that country. For them, the best ones are the puppet governments full of corrupt politicians who can sell their country’s resources and markets for personal benefits. When they do not get it, they can’t digest it.

They set loose their media hounds unofficially to target countries like India. The purpose is to set a narrative that Indian governance is bad, its goods are not up to the mark, the domestic policies are flawed and so on. The only motive is to make the government look apologetic and undeserving. So that they have the better pitch to their bowling. International ratings of the country are purposely made to look bad on all indexes since the sample data is solely the publisher’s choice.

Another subtle phenomenon at play is their fat egos which have been badly hurt with a developing country like India supplying medicines and vaccines to them. A country with 2% allocation of GDP to health supplied medicines and vaccines to countries with 30% allocation of GDP to health. That hurts big time.

Then comes the factor that controls the whole world – Money. Money comes by getting cutting edge profits. Such profits can only come by keeping the rulebook under the carpet. Governments which are not willing to do that are taken care of. There is a global ecosystem which connects with the country’s ecosystem opposing the government. Mind you this ecosystem is more organized and widespread than the government’s machinery itself. Foreign funded protests are organized where a handful hold a country’s government to ransom by the power of money and media. Civil wars and domestic unrest is funded and made infamous in the world. The purpose is to keep the government of a country in trouble.

Lastly, it is the enemy within. Every country has dark souls and termites who feast on others to live a good life. So does India. These termites are found everywhere – armchair intellectuals, sections of media, bureaucracy, politicians, humanitarian organizations and what not. These people reach out to the dark global ecosystem for power, money and fame. These people are awarded and painted as great people by the western media as they are their stooges working for them, speaking their language.

Indians have always been taught to be apologetic about everything, thanks to the two centuries of the colonial rule. They have been made subservient in their own country, in their own culture. It is very easy to make them feel bad about their government and show them rosy pictures of a non-existent world. Thankfully social and digital media have turned out a hard hitting alternative to the mainline media. India is awakening and it no longer requires the validation from the West. Let them try harder.

Excellent article. New india can not go unnoticed now. Moreover leftist media indirectly helps new govt to show their strength by posing small challenges.

True and very well articulated! It’s a FIGHT between TRUTH and everything else! Mithya travels fast in today’s world because we, the humans have become too restless and naive in our actions/responses to anything and everything served to us; however, when Satya travels, it only has one version. And that’s what Sanatana Dharma/culture teaches us to be i.e. Sthitapragya at every juncture of life! That is the only best way to tackle the DARKNESS.
